Chapter Retreat

Riga YPO & EO Chapter Retreat

Riga is a compact capital that still feels grand. A chapter retreat here is built for couples: shared evenings, optional tracks, and logistics that stay invisible between hotel, daytime, and dinner.

Latvia

Latvia gives a chapter much more than a weekend in its capital. Riga sits close to the Baltic coast, while forests, historic towns and the Gauja Valley are all within reach. Summer brings long evenings and time by the water, autumn changes the surrounding countryside, and winter gives both the city and the activities a different character. That range allows us to build the retreat around the season rather than repeat the same programme throughout the year.

Riga

Riga has the scale to host a larger chapter properly without becoming difficult to navigate. Historic streets and Art Nouveau neighbourhoods sit alongside contemporary restaurants, rooftop bars, markets, cultural venues and the Daugava waterfront. Jūrmala's beaches and pine forests are close enough for part of the programme to move to the coast, while Riga remains the natural base for the retreat.

What is unique in Riga for a chapter

A chapter can experience very different sides of Latvia without changing hotels. Couples might spend one afternoon between the Baltic coast, spa, culture and something more active, then meet again for dinner in Riga. Another day can move towards Sigulda and the Gauja Valley before returning to the city for the evening. It gives us the freedom to offer choice during the day while keeping the shared dinners, celebrations and evenings that make a chapter retreat feel like one experience.

Stay

GRAND HOTEL KEMPINSKI
A five-star base in the heart of Riga with 141 rooms and suites, rooftop dining, spa and substantial event facilities. Its 340 m² Grand Ballroom can accommodate up to 360 guests for a reception, giving a chapter considerable flexibility for meetings, private dinners and celebrations.
RADISSON BLU
A larger contemporary alternative with extensive infrastructure for meetings and events. Its dedicated conference floor has 16 multifunctional rooms, while the 27th-floor event space adds panoramic city views for receptions or private functions. The hotel can handle events far larger than a chapter retreat, so a 50–70-person programme has plenty of room to work.

Dining and long nights

Riga gives us plenty of ways to make dinner one of the points around which the chapter comes together. Contemporary Latvian cooking, chef-led restaurants, rooftops, historic interiors and private venues allow each evening to take on a different character. For 50–70 guests, we can use private spaces, restaurant buyouts and larger dinners without making the evening feel like a corporate function.

Shared adventures

The strongest chapter programmes give people choices. Riga allows us to combine the city with the Baltic coast and the countryside around Sigulda, opening up everything from bobsleigh and outdoor activities to experiences on the water and slower alternatives for couples who want a different pace. One part of the chapter might choose something fast or physical while others head towards food, culture, the coast or a more relaxed experience.

Nightlife and entertainment

Riga has enough scale for the evening to develop rather than end with dinner. Rooftops, cocktail bars, live music, cultural venues and late-night locations give us several ways to build a night depending on the chapter and the occasion. Start together, then let the night open up. Some guests may stay for live entertainment or cocktails, others continue later, and others return to the hotel.

Recovery and reset

Jūrmala changes the rhythm completely. The Baltic beach, pine forest, spa culture and distinctive wooden architecture create an easy counterpoint to Riga, while sauna, wellness and quieter cultural options can also remain closer to the city. A slower morning might mean spa and sauna, a walk beside the Baltic, coffee and culture, or simply time together.

Enrichment

For a couples chapter, enrichment does not have to mean another business conversation. Riga offers opportunities to explore Latvian design, fashion, ceramics and craftsmanship through private studio visits, meetings with local designers, curated shopping experiences and hands-on workshops. These encounters offer a more personal introduction to Latvia's creative scene, with experiences that members and partners can enjoy together. Explore Riga's creative scene through private visits to Latvian fashion boutiques, designer studios and artisan workshops.
