Old Town. New Conversations.
Tallinn combines a medieval Old Town with excellent restaurants, cocktail bars, unique experiences, and Nordic sauna culture. Its compact size makes it particularly well suited to YPO and EO forums.
Marrakesh brings together a thousand-year-old Medina, exceptional hotels, Moroccan food and design, lively evenings, and the Atlas Mountains just beyond the city. For YPO and EO forums, it offers a setting with enough contrast to make each day feel different.
Morocco stretches from the Mediterranean and Atlantic coasts to the Atlas Mountains and Sahara, giving different parts of the country very different climates and landscapes. Marrakesh works across much of the year, with each season opening different possibilities for the city, mountains, gardens, outdoor experiences, and surrounding countryside. This makes it easy to shape the retreat around the dates rather than a fixed programme.
Marrakesh is one of Morocco's four imperial cities, built around an ochre-walled Medina where souks, riads, palaces, gardens, workshops, and Jemaa el-Fna sit alongside the contemporary districts of Hivernage and Gueliz. For a forum, that contrast is particularly useful: historic Marrakesh, modern hospitality, restaurants, nightlife, and the Atlas Mountains can all form part of the same stay.
Few destinations offer this much contrast without requiring the group to keep changing hotels. A forum can move from the Medina and private riads to chef-led dinners, hammams, artisan workshops, contemporary nightlife, hot-air ballooning, the rocky Agafay landscape, and the Atlas Mountains. The result can feel distinctly Moroccan without becoming a conventional sightseeing programme.
Marrakesh can move from contemporary Moroccan restaurants and chef-led tasting menus to rooftop dinners, palace settings, private riad courtyards, and traditional cooking. The city's food scene gives us plenty of room to vary the evenings, while private dining and carefully chosen local settings can make the meal itself one of the main experiences rather than simply a restaurant reservation.
The landscape beyond Marrakesh opens up a very different side of the retreat. Hot-air ballooning, Atlas hiking, mountain biking, horse riding, ziplining, and activities around Lalla Takerkoust can all work depending on the season and the group. The Atlas Mountains are close enough to create a substantial change of setting without requiring the retreat to move elsewhere.
Marrakesh changes noticeably after dark. Rooftops and courtyard bars sit alongside live music, late restaurants, lounges, and larger venues around Hivernage, while Jemaa el-Fna takes on an entirely different character in the evening. Private entertainment and carefully selected venues allow the night to move between traditional and contemporary Marrakesh without relying on one style of nightlife.
Traditional hammams, modern spas, gardens, palaces, galleries, architecture, and the workshops of the Medina give Marrakesh a strong cultural and restorative side. Groups can spend time with artisans working in leather, metal, textiles, wood, or zellige, explore Moroccan design, or use a slower part of the programme for hammam and wellness before the evening begins.
Marrakesh is particularly interesting where traditional skills meet contemporary business. Designers, hospitality entrepreneurs, makers, food producers, and founder-led companies are building modern businesses around Moroccan materials, craft, and culture. A private visit with an owner or founder can give the forum a closer look at how heritage, design, production, brand, and international markets come together in a Moroccan business.
